I am currently subscribed with Smart Bro Plan 999 and I am still contented with what I get from this kind of internet connection.

My experience with the Smart Bro is very different from what other bloggers are telling about it at their blogs. Some say, “SMART Bro Sucks“. Other say, “SMART Bro’s dead” and a lot of things they’re saying because of what they said, “bad services of the SMART Bro.”

For your information, SMART Bro is even better than any other internet connection available here in Maasin City. Don’t ever think that I am paid by SMART Philippines to say about their SMART Bro product. I want to make clear that I wrote this post not for the SEO campaign of this blog with the keywords “SMART Bro” or “SMART Bro Sucks” but just to give you some idea about the SMART Bro internet connection that might give you hint what to do to fix your connection. What I am telling you here is true based on my recent experience with the SMART Bro Wireless internet connection.

SMART Bro Problem

Of course, at first I got some problem with it. Jehzlau is true that there were times that I was disconnected from the internet. But I was not embarrassed with it because I know the reason why it happened. It was not because of bad services of the SMART Bro not even because of bad equipment of the SMART Philippines. The only reason is the interferences and failed radio contact of my SMART Bro unit antenna and their antenna fixed at the top most portion of their cellsite.

I am not really a tech savvy person. I am not even a graduate of the Electronic and Communication course. I was just a plain idiot on the technical side of it. But the knowledge I learned from the 1 hour conversation with the Engineer assigned here in Southern Leyte made me smarter than any other SMART Bro subscribers (Yabang hehehe).

So What’s the tip?

Just like what I said above you internet connection through the SMART Bro product depends on the following:

  • Your distance to the SMART Bro cellsite.
  • Your SMART Bro client antenna’s direction.
  • Your environment.
  • The Weather.

Distance to the SMART Bro celsite

Just in case you still didn’t realize the truth about SMART Bro internet connection, I want to tell you that you are connecting to the internet using the SMART wireless connection using the radio frequency.

In other words, the nearer you are from the cellsite, the greater frequency your SMART Bro client antenna received from the SMART Bro main antenna at the cellsite or vise versa. The greater frequency your SMART Bro client antenna received from the antenna at the SMART cellsite or vise versa, the better connection you have.

What I mean is your distance from the cellsite where the SMART Bro main antenna is fixed really affects your connection to the internet.

Now, what if you’re too far from the cellsite? Well, don’t expect that you’re connection will be better just like what the other subscribers are enjoying.

The direction of your SMART Bro client antenna

Another factor that affects your speed in internet connection is the direction of your SMART Bro client antenna.

Have you tried connecting 2 cellphones using infrared connection? Isn’t it that you need to face your 1 cellphones infrared eye to the other one in straight line? Well, that’s how to connect with the internet using the SMART Bro product. You need to fix your antenna in a direction that the SMART BRo antenna at the cellsite should be in a face to face direction with your MART Bro client antenna.

Now, what should you do if the SMART Bro antenna at the celsite is not facing at your direction? If the SMART Bro antenna at their cellsite is not facing at your direction in 0 (zero) degree, then find a place wherein at least the SMART Bro main antenna is facing at you at a direction of less than 90 degree. To understand what I mean, please refer to the illustration below.

Smart Bro Internet Connection

Your Environment

Another thing that you need to consider is that you SMART Bro client antenna should be in eye to eye contact with the SMART Bro cellsite antenna. What I mean is there should be no object or building between your client antenna and the celsite antenna which blocks their contact. Anything that blocks the two antenna’s contact hinder the frequency released by one of the antenna to reach the other antenna, thus the connection between them failed.

The Weather

I am not really sure if the weather really affects the connectivity of your SMART Bro client and the SMART Bro cellsite antenna. But what I observed is that the connection during rainy days or cloudy weather is much slower than the connection during fair weather. And also the connection at day is a little bit slower than the connection at night.

So what…

Now that you have learned little truth about the SMART Bro and its connection, I think you can now stop shouting “SMART Bro sucks” or “SMART Bro Shit”. Better to consider the ideas I shared above before bad-mouthing.

My old posts about SMART Bro

Update: I changed the title from “Truth Behind the SMART Bro Wireless Internet” to “Smart Bro, The Best!“.

Why?

If you’ll look at the current (as of writing this update… see the screenshot below) SERP when searching for SMART Bro, some of those webpages listed on the top SERP are saying “SMART Bro Sucks!”. I just want to make fun of it. So, I decided to change the title of the post to “Smart Bro, The Best!” I will strive hard to top the SERP so that the titles listed on the top SERP will be balanced.

SMART Bro

I’m sorry for playing this game. Well, at least this page contains information about SMART Bro. Users who will accidentally stumble upon this post find something here.

Smart Bro sucks. Download and run this program http://www.colasoft.com/download/products/ping_tool.php and set it to ping http://www.yahoo.com.

You’ll realize that from 9am to 5pm you’ll experience 30% packets lost. If you play online games, you get disconnected and add a loss to your poor hero account.

I emailed SmartBro about it, they fixed it (in Manila, not in my house or the canopy) and was okay for 3 days, then back again. So it’s gotta be their system that’s causing the problem.

What the F..k, Smart Bro is the worst ISP in the country. By the way mag paka toto-o ka naman. Hindi kompleto ang linggo kung hindi nagkadisconnect for at least 1 to 2 days ang server sa smart bro. CROOKs are the right word for them, kasi akala ko, na sa gobyerno lang yung magnanakaw. I tell you, paying them for 999 a month and giving you only 20 days or less than that a slow so slow so slow connection with a rate at speed.net of only 70kbps. Mag download ka torrent expect an 8kbps download.

PLDT MyDSL is still better. Tried SmartBro once before, I was hugely unsatisfied. Especially when you’re playing online games, uploading files to your website, and more. It’s a MAJOR PAIN. Not all people have houses near the cell sites.

MyDSL has no problem whatsoever. It’s always up and has fast download and UPLOAD speeds. Although, the areas they covered are limited. My other house has the MyDSL and my other one has SmartBro, and guess what connection I usually just cuss and curse…
