Question: Is it not recorded in different History books and Encyclopedia that the Roman Catholic Church is the true Church founded by Christ?
Answer:
It might be true that what was recorded on books or encyclopedia other than the Bible is that the Roman Catholic Church is the true church founded by Christ. But we must not forget that the Bible is the word of God and can be trusted than books written by different authors who are not inspired by God.
There will be no problem if what was recorded on the Bible and other books about the church founded by Christ is the same. But if the Bible and other books, both have different declaration about the church, then we should choose one, and I will choose to believe the Holy Bible:
It was clear in Matthew 16:18 that the church founded by Christ is not the Church of Roman (Roman Church). Christ said, “I will build My Church”. He didn’t say, “I will build the Roman Church.
It is also clear that the Church founded by Christ is not the Catholic Church nor the Roman Catholic Church, because he didn’t say “I will build the Catholic Church” or “I will build the Roman Catholic Church” but he said, “I will build My Church”.
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18, NKJV)
And we should not forget that the members of the Church founded by Christ were not called “Catholics” but “Churches of Christ”.
5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house.
Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia[a] to Christ. 6 Greet Mary, who labored much for us. 7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my countrymen and my fellow prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.
8 Greet Amplias, my beloved in the Lord. 9 Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker in Christ, and Stachys, my beloved. 10 Greet Apelles, approved in Christ. Greet those who are of the household of Aristobulus. 11 Greet Herodion, my countryman. Greet those who are of the household of Narcissus who are in the Lord.12 Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, who have labored in the Lord. Greet the beloved Persis, who labored much in the Lord. 13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine. 14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren who are with them. 15 Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them.
16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ greet you. (Romans 16:5-16, NKJV)
Therefore, the true church founded by Christ is not the Roman Catholic Church but the Church of Christ.
