Question: How could it be that the Roman Catholic Church is not the true Church of Christ when in fact it is the only church wherein Christ placed His own Vicar, the Pope?

I know that you know that Christ is still alive and is seated on the right hand of God:

1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. (Colosians 3:1, NIV)

He is not disabled nor dead so that He will place a Pope to the Church as His vicar or substitute. We couldn’t even find the term “Vicar of Christ” in the Bible.

Christ being the head of the Church:

18And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. (Colosians 1:18, NIV)

don’t need any vicar, substitute nor replacement that will act in place as of that of Christ because Christ continues forever:

24 But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. (Hebrews 7:24, NKJV)

If He was the head of the Church yesterday, then He is the same today and will be the same forever:

8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8, NKJV)

Therefore, the teaching that the Pope is the Vicar of Christ is another proof that the Roman Catholic Church is not the Church of Christ.
