Everyone of us has his own definition on what FOOL is. But with this post, I will share to you the three ways in which a man can be considered FOOL according to the Bible.

First, those who do not believe that there is God, according to the book of Psalms is fool:

The fool says in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;
there is no one who does good. (Psalms 14:1, NIV)

It is even clarified that they are corrupt, and because they don’t believe in God, therefore they do not know what God’s will and therefore their deeds are considered vile. Atheists belongs to this of course.

Secondly, there are people who claimed they’re well educated and wise, and they received lot of recognition but if they will examine them, they’re actually fool. This what Apostle Paul said in Romans 1:22:

Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools ( Romans 1:22, NIV)

Why is it that they are considered fool? It is because instead of worshipping God, they worship the images of man or man with birds, man with four-footed animals and man with creeping things.

and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. (Romans 1:23, NKJV)

What are the examples of those images? San Roque – man with four-footed animal, St. Francis – man with birds, St. Peter – man with birds (chicken), Virgin sa Regla – man with creeping thing (snake) … Images of animals with the image of man create the identity of that images. They didn’t understand that the materials use to create those images are used for other purposes.

He cuts down cedars for himself,
And takes the cypress and the oak;
He secures it for himself among the trees of the forest.
He plants a pine, and the rain nourishes it.
Then it shall be for a man to burn,
For he will take some of it and warm himself;
Yes, he kindles it and bakes bread;
Indeed he makes a god and worships it;
He makes it a carved image, and falls down to it.
16He burns half of it in the fire;
With this half he eats meat;
He roasts a roast, and is satisfied.
He even warms himself and says,

“ Ah! I am warm,
I have seen the fire.”
17 And the rest of it he makes into a god,
His carved image.
He falls down before it and worships it,
Prays to it and says,

“ Deliver me, for you are my god!”(Isaiah 44:14-17, NKJV)

But why did they never realized this eventhough they received the highest level of their education?

18 They do not know nor understand;
For He has shut their eyes, so that they cannot see,
And their hearts, so that they cannot understand.
19 And no one considers in his heart,
Nor is there knowledge nor understanding to say,

“ I have burned half of it in the fire,
Yes, I have also baked bread on its coals;
I have roasted meat and eaten it;
And shall I make the rest of it an abomination?
Shall I fall down before a block of wood?”
20 He feeds on ashes;
A deceived heart has turned him aside;
And he cannot deliver his soul,
Nor say, “Is there not a lie in my right hand?” (Isaiah 44:18-20, NKJV)

According to the Bible, it is because God shut their eyes and their hearts so that they cant notice what they’re doing. And I know that you knew already who are these people. I will not mention here anymore.

And the last kind of fool according to the Bible are those who said that Faith in Christ alone is enough to gain Salvation on the day of God’s wrath. They said, that joining the true Church of Christ is not required because by just accepting Christ as personal savior is enough already so that Christ will save man:

20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. (James 2:20,26, NKJV)

They did’t realize that faith without work is dead. But what work is it that should accompany man’s faith? Christ’s answered this:

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. (Matthew 7:21, NKJV)

This is to follow the will of God.

Did you know what’s one of the will of God that a man should do?

9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. (Ephesians 1:9-10, NKJV)

That all things in heaven and on earth will be gathered together in one, in Christ. But how should it be done?

5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. (Romans 12:5, NKJV)

They are gathered in Christ as one body. And we already know that the body of Christ is the Christ’s Church.

18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. (Colossians 1:18, NKJV)

That is the reason why Christ invites people to enter Him. Take note, “TO ENTER HIM” not “TO LET CHRIST ENTERS US” as what many Born Again Christians said.

9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. (John 10:9, NKJV)

And entering by Christ is by joining the Church of Christ which is His body.
