After 2 years of engaging with a long distance relationship, my girlfriend and I finally decided to settle ourselves. We are both excited while planning everything for our wedding.
Last night, before I went to bed, I accidentally read what the Apostle Paul said about marrying. For the Apostle Paul, it is better to remain single:
1Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry. (I Corinthians 7:1, NIV)
Remain unmarried like what he did:
8Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. (I Corinthians 7:8, NIV)
However, if one can’t control of himself, then it is better to marry:
9But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. (I Corinthians 7:9, NIV)
Inorder to avoid sexual immorality:
2 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. (I Corinthians 7:2, NKJV)
In other words, marrying can keep me away from sexual immorality because it will be righteous for me and my wife to show our affection to both.
3 Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. (I Corinthians 7:3, NKJV)
