The Google StoryThere are times that we forget the domain of the site we’re about to visit.

For example, you need to visit my blog, but you forget the address of it. What you remember is its site name, which is SELaplana.

Now, can we use this site name in looking for the site? Of course, we can find the site using its site name in two ways: First is by searching the sitename using the Search Engines or by Asking Google to bring you to the site.

  1. Search through a Search Engine using the site name as Keyword. Since the site name in our example is SELaplana, search for it, and the Search Engine will give you the results in which pages mentioning the SELaplana will be listed according to its Search Result Ranks which varies from Search Engines to Search Engines.

In Yahoo Search Result, the SELaplana site is ranked second as shown on the screen shot below:

    Yahoo Search

However if you will search the SELaplana through the Google Search Engine, you’ll never find the site on the first page of the list, as shown below:

    Google Search

So, this time we need to do the second way of finding the site.

  2. We need to use the Google Search as the default Search Engine of our browser. If you are using the Mozilla’s Firefox, then there’s no need to configure your browser. On the Address Tab, type the site name. In our example the site name is SELaplana, then press ENTER or click on GO button. After doing that, the site will be immediately open through your browser.
