It’s a popular belief that Christ is a true God. Some religion teaches that Christ is the second person in the Trinity and there are some religions also teach that Christ is God but not a member of the Trinity.

However, did you know that in the Bible, Christ is not the true God?

It was Christ Himself who introduced that the only true God is His Father.

1After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 3Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17:1,3, NIV)

We should not forget that saying ONLY TRUE GOD means there is no god besides Him (the Father):

8 Do not tremble, do not be afraid.
Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago?
You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me?
No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.” (Isaiah 44:8, NIV)

5 I am the LORD, and there is no other;
apart from me there is no God.
I will strengthen you,
though you have not acknowledged me, (Isaiah 45:5,NIV)

Now, if the Father is only the true God, since Christ is not the Father, therefore Christ is no the true God.

Did the Apostles agreed on what Christ has revealed, that it is the Father who is the only true God? Yes, the Apostles truly agreed on the the truth. Apostle Paul on his letter to the Corinthians said, “there is only one God, the Father”.

6yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

The only True God is our Father and Father of Christ and the God of Christ:

17Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.‘ ” (John 20:17, NIV)

In other words, the popular belief of almost all Christian religions and sects, that Christ is also a true God is not Biblical and is not in accord with the teaching of Christ.
