Google has recently introduced its new feature “Personalized Search” for the Google News.
What’s Personalized Search anyway? According to Google, it is part of Google’s ongoing effort to make your search experience more relevant to you.(source)
What can we do with this Personal Search?
- Get the results most relevant to you, based on what you’ve searched for in the past
- View and manage your past searches, including the webpages, images, news headlines and Froogle results you’ve clicked on
- Create bookmarks you can access from any computer
In other words, Personalized Search orders our search results based on our past searches, including our searches on the news through the Google News sites and the headlines we clicked.
How to view the History? Using this features needs us to login with the Google. And then on the upper-right tab of the Google News page, click on SEARCH HISTORY link, and you’ll be viewing the history of your searches like what I have as shown on the screenshot below:
Early on, you may not notice a huge impact on your search results, but as you build up your search history, your personalized search results will continue to improve.
Personalized Search is an improvement to Google search that orders your search results based on what you’ve searched for in the past. You may not notice much difference at first, but as you build up your search history, your personalized search results will continue to improve.
You can view your Search History on this page at any time by clicking the “Search History” link on the Google homepage.
If you don’t want certain searches included in your Search History, simply click the “Pause” button on this page. Until you click “Resume,” your searches won’t be saved in your Search History or be used to personalize your search results.
