(1) It is because the church is the body of Christ. How do you call my body? Isn’t it that you will call my body as SELaplana’s body or Body of Selaplana? So, since the church is the body of Christ, then that’s the reason why the true church is called the Church of Christ.

(2) It is Christ who founded the Church.

(3) The true church is the wife of Christ. My wife is called Junith Laplana. Why? It is because he is my wife. My surname is Laplana so since she is already my wife so it is rightful for her to carry my name. The same is true to the church. The church is the wife of Christ, so it is also rightful if the church will be called Church of Christ.

(4) Christ purchased the church by his blood. If you will buy an egg from the store, isn’t it right to call that egg, Racquel’s egg or the Egg of Racquel. The same is true to the church. It was already purchased by Christ, so it is also right to call the church as Church of Christ.

You say that Jesus Christ is the owner of the Church that is why it is named after him. But you are wrong because the owner of the Church is God and he is entrusting His Church and His people to his son Jeus Christ. So the right name is not Church of Christ but Church of God in Christ Jesus because both the Father and His son Jesus Christ owns it.
