The term AJAX is always mention on the web. Wherever I go, I always find this term. But what is AJAX anyway?

There are many definitions of AJAX. Here in the Philippines alone, we can define it in many ways. I have here two pinoy definition of AJAX.

1. AJAX is a name of man. He’s my classmate in High School at Saint Augustine High School in San Agustin, Surigao del Sur.
2. AJAX is a brand of washing soap.

However, if AJAX is mentioned by some webmasters, then it refers to the programming language. AJAX stands for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. It is a term describing a web development technique for creating interactive web applications using a combination of * HTML (or XHTML) and Cascading Style Sheets for presenting information* Document Object Model, JavaScript to dynamically display and interact with the information presented* XML, XSLT and the XMLHttpRequest object to interchange and manipulate data asynchronously with the web server (although AJAX applications can use other technologies … (source:wikipedia)It’s a scripting tecnique for silently loading new data from the server.
