The Difference: God and Christ
Did you know that Christ is really different from God?
I want to share you six great differences between Christ and God.
First. The Father who is the only true God,
1After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 3Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17:1,3, NIV)
recognized no other god.
39 “See now that I myself am He!
There is no god besides me.
I put to death and I bring to life,
I have wounded and I will heal,
and no one can deliver out of my hand. (Deuteronomy 32:39, ibid)
On the other hand, Christ called for His God.
34And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?”which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mark 15:34, ibid)
Second: God raised Jesus from the dead.
32God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. (Acts 2:32, ibid)
And it is Christ who was raised by God from the dead.
10then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. (Acts 4:10, ibid)
Third: God put everything under Christ feet, but Christ is subject to God.
27For he “has put everything under his feet.”[a] Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. (1 Corinthians 15:27-28, ibid)
Fourth: God is immortal,
17Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (I Timothy 1:17, ibid)
but Christ died.
3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, (I Corinthians 15:3, ibid)
Fifth: God is almighty,
1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty ; walk before me and be blameless. (Genesis 17:1, ibid)
Christ only received authority.
18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.(Matthew 28:18, ibid)
Sixth: God can do everything,
11 From the east I summon a bird of prey;
from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose.
What I have said, that will I bring about;
what I have planned, that will I do. (Isaiah 46:11, ibid)
But Christ can do nothing by Himself.
30By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me. (Jon 5:30, ibid)

What are you talking about, your are misleading people by believing that Jesus is different from God. Please read this http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/jesusgd2.htm and you’ll learn that Jesus is God. Please delete this post before it corrupts people’s mind.
I enjoyed your site.. but when I opened this topic.. Huh.. some kind a misleading… do you belong in JW of INC? Don’t use any scripture if you yourself could not even understand.
kindly explain why you said that what I wrote here is misleading….
This article is not misleading. If you found yourself being hurt you might be reading a pure gospel. Actually if you review the entire text Mr. Selaplana is just re-emphasizing those statement from the bible without his personal interpretation. Just read it in an open mind. Well this is not surprising since catholic priest seldom use bible in their worship services.
Regarding their differences I would like to discuss on the third part which says that God put everything under Christ feet, but Christ is subject to God.
27For he âhas put everything under his feet.â[a] Now when it says that âeverythingâ has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. (1 Corinthians 15:27-28, ibid)
Let’s talk about the Trinitarian doctrine which they claim to be equal in power.
One of the many reasons why the Trinitarian doctrine is allegedly so mysterious is that to equal one God, the three distinct persons have to be co-equal and coeternal. Cardinal Gibbons stated this belief succinctly, thus:
âThe Catholic Church teaches that there is but one God, who is infinite in knowledge, in power, in goodness, and in every other perfection; who created all things by His omnipotence, and governs them by His Providence. ”
âIn this one God there are three distinct Persons, –the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, who are perfectly equal to each other.â
(The Faith of our Fathers, p.1)
Again let’s quote the third part of this article:
27For he âhas put everything under his feet.â[a] Now when it says that âeverythingâ has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. (1 Corinthians 15:27-28, ibid)
God put everything under Christ feet, therefore Christ is subject to God right?
So, what happens now to the claims of the catholic athorities that those three persons are equal?
âYou heard me say, âI am going away and I am coming back to youâ, If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.â
(Jn. 14:28, New International Version)
The Lord Jesus Christ Himself declared that the Father is greater than He. In other words, Jesus is subordinate to the Father. In his letter to the Corinthians, Apostle Paul also testified that the Lord Jesus Christ is subordinate to the Father, he said:
âFor the scripture says, âGod put all things under his feetâ. It is clear, or course, that the words âall thingsâ do not include God himself, who puts all things under Christ. But when all things have been placed under Christâs rule, then he himself, the Son, will place himself under God, who placed all things under him; and God will rule completely overall.â
(I Cor. 15:27-28, Todayâs English Version)
On the day of Judgment, the Lord Jesus Christ will place or subject himself to God. Therefore, the Father is greater than the Son; they are not equal.
The one sent is not greater than the sender
How about the Holy Spirit? Is the Holy Spirit subordinate to the Father and to the Son? Christ taught that there is a great difference between the sender and the one sent:
âTruly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.â
(Jn. 13:16, Revised Standard Version)
According to Christâs teaching, the one sent is not greater than the one who sends. In the other words, the sender is greater than the one sent. The Father sends the Holy Spirit:
âBut the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.â
(Jn. 14:26, Ibid.)
Therefore, the Father and the Holy Spirit are not coequal. Aside from the Father, who else sends the Holy Spirit? Christ said:
âBut when the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness to me.â
(Jn. 15:26, Ibid.)
Christ also send the Holy Spirit. Thus, the Son and the Holy Spirit are not coequal. Who sent Christ?
âAfter Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: âFather,âŠNow this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sentâ.â
(Jn. 17:1,3, NIV)
The Holy spirit is not God but a councelor a “spirit of truth” being sent to those disciples of Christ in his Church.
The Father is sovereign over all.
The doctrine of the Trinity is not taught in the Bible. In fact, this doctrine blatantly contradicts biblical teaching. The true Christians recognize only one God as supreme. That one God is the Father alone:
âOne God and Father of [us] all, Who is above all [sovereign over all], pervading all and [living] in [us] all.â
(Eph. 4:6, Amplified Bible)
He is the same God who stated that He cannot be compared to anyone:
As what the Father says:
âTo whom will you compare me or count me equal? To whom will you liken me that we may be compared?â
(Is. 46:5, NIV)
Those who accept the truth that the Father alone is God are one step closer to eternal life (Jn. 17:3,1).
