Christ is the Father and the Father is Christ

The Last Temptation of Christ - Criterion CollectionI came here for my internet activities late because, my cousins wanted me to be convinced that Father and Christ are one. For them, Christ is the Father and the Father is Christ.

I told them: “if Christ is the Father and the Father is Christ then why is it that Christ prayed to the Father in John 17:1-3?”

1After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17:1-3, NIV)

Do you think Christ will looked towards heaven if the Father whom Christ was praying is not in Heaven? Christ lifted up His eyes to Heaven when praying to the Father because the Father is really in heaven according to Christ.

9″This, then, is how you should pray:
” ‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name, (Matthew 6:9, ibid)

If Christ is the Father, then why should he looked up his eyes towards the heaven, and asked the Father to glorify Him? It is already clear that the Father is not Christ because the Father is the one whom Christ prayed and would glorify Him.
If Christ is the Father and the Father is Christ, it means that they are really one in number.
Is the Father and Christ one in number? I mean if we count Christ and the Father, can we count them as one only not two? Christ Himself anwered this question. And He said, He was not alone. He was with the Father.

16 And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me. 17 It is also written in your law that the testimony of two men is true. (John 8:16-17, NKJV)

He even quote what was written in the law that the testimony of two men is true. In other words Christ wanted to tell them that He and His Father in not one in number but they are two.

If Christ and the Father are counted as two beings, then it is not true that Christ is the Father and the Father is Christ.
