Lucky Winner
Cellphone number 0919-304-6807 sent me an SMS with a screenshot above, telling me that my SIM was choosen to be the 3rd lucky winner of V-Pres Charity Foundation worth 480,000 as of 9/25/2006 per DTI Permit #2578. And to claim the prize, I was told to call Atty. Rex A. Villar.
And yes, I called him up. He then told me to send him my fullname and full address to verify my identity with the cellphone number.
However, even if I want to know the real motive behind this, I stopped taking any steps for it will only use-up my time. I know this is just one of the mobile scams.

Hi! I was curious about a text message that I got so I searched for information on the net and this message board is what came up.
I got the same text message containing: “Congrats! Last june/28/07 Ur Sim# had Won P480,000 Frm V-Pres CHARITY FOUNDATION DTI-NCR Permit#0493 Series 2007 Call Now! 09283155110 Atty. Roberto A. Cruz”
I tried contacting the number but it is always busy… Is this a scam? Sounds like one…
well, that’s pretty sure a scam. if you’ll contact them, they will then ask your personal info then tell you to deposit the 10% tax or ask some load…..

I’m worried about this message because unusual and then i check and i found out here the previous message this only a scam…
Yes, definitely a sure scam because I got the same exact message but using a different number this time. My advise
is just ignore them and don’t bother calling them and do
not give your PERSONAL INFORMATION to complete strangers.

Holy cow! Does this person actually expect me to buy crap from someone named after a former president of the Philippines? Anyhow, this is unnerving and down-right ruthless.

This is also similar to what u’ve had received of their deceitful message sent to my cp. I don’t know how they able to get my number but i’m certain that the person who sent u such message similar to mine belongs to a group. How I wish the police and commission on information and communications technology (citc) or national telecommunication commission find a way to close-in this sim number currently activated on a cp, perhaps a kind of GPS that would be able to target a sim number on a location.
If this happen to you please spam the ntc, the citc so that they may know that such activity is so rampant and hope they may do some kind of action of about this.
These perpetrators will not stop until someone will voice out.
I hope these people who wish to feed on the innocent minds may be put behind bars or feed them to crocodiles.

This was the exact message that I received from anomalous person. I do replying him, but thru text only, but he did not reply at all. Then, I do research this company, then I found out this blogs. Buti na lang and I saw this website and at least I avoid this swindle.
Hope the telecommunications company as well as government agency/ies will have action for this or block those numbers that we posted here. Marami silang nape-perwisyo!!!!!
To those who received this kind of message, kindly spread out this fake message and make a public warning so that the public will be aware for this type of swindle.
hi! i just received the same message and asked me to call Atty. rex villar for more info but instead googled that name and found this blog. Thanks for the warnings. surely it’s another scam or something to that effect.

Well I just got the same sms text, today while surfing the net, and it says that my sim# won 480,000 php. and the person in the sms was named as atty.Raul A. Yap… Who the hell is this?? #$%@ him! and they claim that the dti permit was 3088. luckily i opened this blog just before i was going to reply on this stupid sms… Tnx a lot guys

I called him and said theres a procedure to claim the prize. I pretend that I am in the Philippines because heask my location and I said I am right no in Manila and he said to call him again using my smart simcard and give my complete details name,address and he will tell where the office to claim the price
I did not call again because I am using long distance call
mysmart simcard dont have load, I only use it for tex because longdistance calls expensive
then i found out about this scam,same also..

I also got the same text message when I was in school. I called “Atty. Rex A. Santos” secretly during lunchtime. His tone of voice is like of a man trying to stop his laughter and he sounds unsure on what words will he use on me. Good thing I googled his so-called foundation.

got text message from Atty Rey E. im cell #0909-615-9647 that i won P480,000 and a 21″ Flat TV from V-Pres Charity Foundation by electronic Raffle with DTI Permit #8099 Series/2008. i called back and it was a person requesting me to txt back a full name, address and age. so i entertained it. he then txt’d back and told me the requirements needed to claim the prize. he said i have to buy 2 talk n txt cards and 8 smart buddy prepaid cards all P300 in value, 2×2 pic and a birth cert. then i would have to call him back and give him the PIN #’s over the phone. he specifically told me not to use the prepaid cards. after that, he told me to prepare a valid ID – (changed from 2×2 and birth cert). then he said after he verified all the pin numbers he would meet me up and take me to a bank to do the exchange. o and by the way, he told me to do this within 1 hour and he would be waiting for my call. bad news, he ate up about P60 of my load by talking to me over the phone. Good news is i didnt buy any of the cards.

As I read this website about SCAMS and too many , never ending and look here ( Australia) it will stop soon and all will be confistated. Instead warming up bump, Philippine Government should act at illegal game. Police should take action or get kick out.
