Nokia Against VoIP

I don’t know if it’s good news or bad news for us to know that Nokia launches solution to control the P2P traffic.

To help mobile operators better manage their data traffic, Nokia (NYSE: NOK – News) is introducing a network solution that lets operators control the use of network resources by bandwidth hungry applications such as file sharing and Voice over IP telephony — giving operators the tools to maintain better control over their networks. I know, it’s good news to all mobile operator, for they can now kill the VoIP or similar feature that Pinoy internet users are using to communicate their OFW loveones. If this solution will be implemented by mobile operators here in the Philippines, then well be forced to use our mobile phones in calling our loveones abroad which is more expensive than calling them through the internet.

Remember that we can call abroad through the internet which will make us spend PHP15/hour while PHP15 through our phone will be spend in just few minutes.

However, I am still wondering if the Voice Chat of the Yahoo Messenger will affected by this solution. If not, then we still have the option of using the Yahoo Messenger in calling our loveones abroad.
