Sue Google and Earn Extra Dollars
I read news that a Belgian News company sued Google for including their stories in Google News. They wanted Google to remove their content from the Google News or else they will let Google pay them the daily fine of $1.3 million.
A Belgian court today will hear Google’s defense against local newspaper complaints that it stole content from their Web sites without paying them or asking their permission.
This will be the first time Google argues its case after the Brussels-based Court of First Instance ordered the California-based company to remove Belgian French-language newspaper content from its news index, threatening daily fines of $1.3 million. (source)
I am really wondering what’s the problem with the Google News, for I know that Google News publish only a strip of their news content and that the full story is actually published on their own site. So, Google actually didn’t stole any story they wrote, instead promotes them on the internet.
For me, (my content) to be included in the Google News is such an opportunity because Google News truly drives millions of traffic into our featured story, just like what Google spokeswoman Jessica Powell said:
… the company had complied with the ruling when it received it in mid-September, stripping out Belgian newspaper content from Google News and publishing the entire text of the judgment on its home page.
So, this Belgian News company is not actually interested of gaining traffic to their website and earn money through their stories, but earning dollars from Google. So, to do this, they need to sue Google. Sueing Google is now a business and a way of making money online.
I think, instead of sueing Google for featuring stories into the Google News, I rather beg Google to include all my stories to the Google News and index all my pages of my websites. However, I can also Sue Google for publishing part of the contents of my websites and let them pay millions of dollars as fine.
