Firefox Restored My Internet Session

Just this time, the power of SOLECO (Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative) went off that disappointed me because I already had opened the website I need. After a minute, the power restored and I immediately started the PC.

Then a prompt appeared that told me to choose whether to restore my internet session or not. I clicked the “restore session” and the result amazed me. I was not thinking that the Firefox 2 has the ability to restore any internet session that has been accidentally closed. It’s a good thing for me. However, it also means a risk for my email and other accounts.

Why a risk? For example, I decided not to wait for the power to came back, then another cafe’s client use the computer I used and then restored all the websites I visited including my email and adsense account. Fortunately, my adsense account was not restored up to the adsense publishers’ interface. But my email was really restored without asking me to log-in first.

So, it’s another lesson to me to make sure that my traces are totally erased before leaving any public-use computer.
