“Ugly! Yes! People are calling me ‘Ugly Boy’. If you will look at me, you’ll probably thinking that I am a son of a monkey couple. I don’t have hairy body but I do have an ugly face which really looks like the face of a monkey.”

Those are the words I heard from a boy whom I talked with while riding a Bachelor Express bus from Liloan Ferry Terminal to Maasin City this morning. I was touched by his story but I couldn’t tell him to change his face just like what is being served by a New Jersey plastic surgery center, because his face is the best gift of God to him.

But he said to me, “How about if I will take a plastic surgery for my face?”

I just can’t answer his question. I just don’t know if it’s best to follow the footsteps of Michael Jackson by changing his face from a cute black boy to a pale woman-like face.
