From this image, it seems that Shikamaru was caught by the jutsu of Hidan, which according to Asuma one of the blood techniques.

On this jutsu, once an opponent got caught by the jutsu user, the opponents blood will be eaten by the user until the opponent will die.

However, in this situation, Hidan is not actually killing Shikamaru but Kakuzu. According to the plans of Shikamaru, Kakashi will take a blood sample of Kakuzu and then Shikamaru will let Hidan caught him. Hidan will eventually think that the blood he’s eating is the blood of Shikamaru but it’s not it. The blood is actually of Kakuzu.

Anyway, that’s just my thoughts while reading the Manga. It’s not actually clear if that’s really the story. Let’s just verify it with the release of the next chapter of the Naruto Manga.
