Did you know that December 25 is not really the birth date of Christ?

To let you know, there’s nothing in this world that can attest how and when Jesus Christ was born except the Holy Scripture or the Holy Bible. So, we can’t rely on the other books which said that the birth date of Christ is December 25.

The Holy Bible states that on the day Jesus was born, there were shepherds living out in the fields, to watch over their flock:

“Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.” (Luke 2:8, NKJV)

And we should take note also that at that time, the census was conducted:

“And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.

“This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria.

“So all went to be registered everyone to his own city.” (Luke 2:1-3, ibid.)

Now, if December 25 is really the date when Jesus was born, then how could it be that the sheep were out of the fields at night and that the census was conducted, when in fact December is the time of winter?

You might ask me why… Isn’t not possible that sheep stay outside the field at night and that census can be conducted during winter? Well. To answer this question, let us consider the information recorded on “The Catholic Encyclopedia“:

“ORIGIN OF DATE- Concerning the date of Christ’s birth the Gospel give no help;; indeed, upon their date contradictory arguments are based. The census would have been impossible in winter: a whole population couldn’t then be put in motion. …Authorities moreover differ as to whether shepherds could or would keep flocks exposed during the nights of the rainy season. ” (page 726)

See! Even Catholic Authorities knew the fact that census is impossible to do during winter and that they were confused if flocks could be exposed during nights of the rainy season. These two fact proves that the date of Jesus’ birth is not really December 25.
