Today is the third day of continuous pour of heavy rains here in Southern Leyte. I am worried that the cracks caused by last year’s heavy rains might awaken again.

If you still remember, there are several cracks on hills and mountains in Maasin City, Macrohon, P. Burgos, Malitbog, Sogod, Liloan, Hinundayan, San Francisco, St. Bernard and Hinunangan areas. And one of them had been fallen already which buried the entire village of Barangay Guinsaugon (St. Bernard, Southern Leyte)

Currently, the Agas-agas area (Sogod, Southern Leyte) is already closed to all vehicles. And some parts of the province is now suffering minor floods.

We’ll just hope that the Guinsaugon-like tragedy will not happen again.
