In our previous Trivia-Religion post, we learned that the Apostolic Fathers did not believe that Christ is God except Ignatius. But why is it that it is said to be with the exception of Ignatius?
Did you know that according to the book, “Systematic Theology” by Augustus Hopkins, it was Ignatius who taught for the first time that Christ is God? This is what is written on page 305)
“The earliest time known at which Jesus was deified was, after the New Testament writers, in the letters of Ignatius, at the beginning of the Second century …”
