Is it the right time to look for Marketers or SEO who can help my blog improve its postion on Google SERP?

I asked my self about this after I received an email from an SEO or should I call him an Search Engine Marketer, suggesting that my blog should be handled by professional SEO to improve its postion on major SERPs.

He told me that they know the science of search engines that’s why they really understand that improvement in search engine placement is crucial for a successful business and that they know how to handle this kind of job. (ad: Internet marketing San Diego)

Anyway, I am actually doing the SEO and Marketing by my self. I think, I don’t need them at this time because I am still doing some experiments on SEO and Search Engine Marketing for me to learn and acquire such skills that I can use in the future to earn more dollars.
