This post is actually part of two blogging job: Paid Link, and Paid Answer. I was paid to create link “New York Face Lift” and I was also paid to answer a question about face lift.
What is facelift?
Facelift is the common name of the medical term Rhytidectomy. It is a type of cosmetic surgery which aims to reduce the visible signs of aging on the face and neck. This is done by removing excess fat, tightening of neck muscles, and removing the sagging of skin.
Not all patients who want to undergo facelift are qualified. Experts said that the best results from facelifts are experienced by patients whose face and neck have started to sag or droop, but whose skin still retains some of its elasticity, and whose bone structure is well-defined.
Facelift can be done to patients whose age range from 40 to 60, however people in seventies and eighties can also avail with this.
The Wikipedia mentions complications on facelift surgery:
The most common complication is bleeding which usually requires a return to the operating room. Less common (but graver) complications include damage to the facial nerve and necrosis of the skin flaps.
Contraindications to facelift surgery include severe concomitant medical problems. While not absolute contraindication, the risk of postoperative complications in increased in cigarette smokers and patients with hypertension and diabetes. Patients should abstain from taking aspirin or other blood thinners before surgery.
