Rhythm Method of Birth Control: Against the Bible

Did you know that the rhythm method of birth control is a direct contradiction to the truth written on the Bible?

We all learned from my previous post that the rhythm method of birth control can be done by abstaining sex during the so-called fertile days.

But then we all know that the sperm cells of male live up to three days while the egg cell of female live up to two days. So, we should add three days before and two days after the expected dates of ovulation to determine the fertile period. In other words, couple should avoid sexual intercourse during the 11th up to 20th day from the first day or menstruation.

However the Holy Bible clearly teaches:

“Do not withhold sexual intercourse from one another, unless you agree to do so for a time in order to devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again. You mush not let Satan temp you through incontinence.” (I Corinthians 7:5, Moffatt Translation)

  1. The Bible does not say anything at all about methods of birth-control. It is obvious that the phenomenon for which we now use the word birth control was not known in Biblical times.

Couples who want to live as husband and wife and practise their sexuality in the way advised (prescribed?) by God, Jesus Christ, the Bible and Christianity can only base their decisions on Jesus’ own answer when someone asked Him what was the most important commendment. Jesus’ answers was: love your God with all your heart, your whole mind and all your intelligence ……….and love your neighbour as you love yourself.
No doubt the word neighbour here includes your spouse and your (future) children.

In short: people who desire to please their God, also in the way they deal with sexual questions, should base their behaviour on their love for their husband, their wife, their family.

I think the point to be focused on is “unless you agree to do so for a time in order to devote yourselves to prayer.” This means that it is okay to abstain, if you have a greater purpose in mind, which is pleasing God. If you decide to not abstain, but then treat your partner as an object of pleasure anyway, then it does more harm.

You guys are way off if you read the bible all of it not just parts to support your opinion . You will clearly see that it says that both have to agree not to have sex at that time so if the husban and wife agree to use the rythm method than it is ok to do so
