You might wonder what is HDTV. Is it stands for High Digital Television, just like what I thought before?
Well, It is true that HDTV is a kind of Digital TV but it doesn’t stand for “High Digital TV” but HDTV actually stands for High Definition TV. The term refers to the new format of digital signal to be seen on the television screen.
When regular NTSC TV have 525 lines of resolution, HDTV has 1125 lines of resolution having over five times the video information than that of a conventional NTSC-type TV set. It has the ratio of 16:9 image and usually accompanied by 5.1 channels of Dolby Digital audio.
