When a CNET editor and his family lost in the woods, everyone on the internet panic. His family was saved with the help of his cellphones pings, but then he lost his life by searching for help.
And now, a Microsoft guy, Jim Gray (63) is now missing not in the woods but on the oceans.
Jim Gray, 63, set out alone in good weather on his 40-foot sailboat Tenacious Sunday morning for the islands 27 miles west of the Golden Gate Bridge. He was expected back sometime that afternoon, officials said.
His wife notified the Coast Guard at 8:35 p.m. Sunday after he failed to return and did not answer cell phone calls, officials said.
I don’t know if Jim Gray’s cellphones can help the rescuers as they search him for the searchers lost his contact already.
