Hong Kong’s only public broadcaster, Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) has created many high-quality TV programs throughout the years, documenting different facets of Hong Kong people’s lives. Among them was the 1981 TV series Faces & Places which featured new actors and actresses who later made their names popular locally or even internationally. This collection consists of two episodes from Faces & Places, namely Till We Meet Again starring Andy Lau and Floating Clouds with Cherie Chung leading the cast.
Andy Lau was a first-time male lead in Till We Meet Again. He plays a wacky gangster who abets his girlfriend to work as a prostitute, and takes the money to have fun with other girls. Her girlfriend finally finds out his disloyalty and a disastrous outburst seems unavoidable…
Floating Clouds, directed by acclaimed Hong Kong art house cinema director Clara Law (Temptation of Monk), sees Cherie Chung as a rich girl returning from studying abroad. She encounters her ex-boyfriend when feeling confused owing to setbacks in both her career and love life…
