Google recently released its online Doc and Spreadsheet application which let users share its files. It’s users advantage of course having an application like this for we don’t need to install it first into our computer. What we need is just the internet connection.

And with the release of the online photo editor, “Picnik” , my internet sessions are now becoming easy. See… not only that I can easily write documents or spreadsheets without the hasle of installing Microsoft’s product, but now I can also edit pictures without installing Photoshop and the likes on my computer.

With Picnik, you can get photos from your computer, from Flikr, Search Engines results, durect from Camera or from any websites. You can edit the photos easily and add some effects on them.

However, we still have problems when using it. And this problem is shown on the screen shot below:

Picnik is too limited. It is only good for amateur, but is bad for those who are professionals who want to do many things just to make the photo looks good.

Anyway, it is already good if you don’t have Photoshop.

I found the Techcrunch page which features the online photo editing softwares. And according to it, it is Fauxto which looks like Photoshop.

Fauxto is a Flash-based Photoshop look-alike. It is the only layer-based online tool that we know of, and is by far the best of the bunch. But if all you are looking for is photo editing, and you aren’t familiar with Photoshop, Fauxto will frustrate you with its complexity. And if you are already familiar with Photoshop, chances are you have a copy already. Fauxto is lovely to look at and it is a really nice example of Flash in action, but I’m not sure who their target market is.
