Bloggers around the world complain when Senator Ted Stevens introduced a bill (Senate Bill 49) that require school or library that gets federal Internet subsidies to block access to interactive Web sites, including social networking sites, and possibly blogs as well as reported in the Computer World blog. Mark Evans called the Senate who describes the internet as the series of tubes, as the one who doesn’t understand the internet.

I understand why Senator “Tube”, did this. He just want to save the children from abuses and from things that can be found on the internet that they shouldn’t have to see. But this bill might ban blogs and the Wikipedia too, thus seems not good at all. Remember that the Wikipedia is currently one of the widely used reference site.

I wonder if Senator “Tube” will consider social network site as the best communication tool just like what Senator Obama did…
