Actually, I am one of those who criticized Manny Pacquiao when he said that he will run for an office in the Philippine Congress this coming May 2007 election. One of the reason why I criticized him is his educational attainment, for we know that Manny Pacquaio is just an elementary graduate.
Of course I know, that his popularity will lead him to win, just like what happened to Erap when he run for Senator, Vice President and President as well. But what can Manny do during the debates in the Congress and how can he propose a bill when he’s not knowledgeable on this. So then, he will be the next Erap who only made a single law (Carabao law) out of his years on the Senate.
However, it seems that Manny is really interested and eager to be a public servant. Just recently he passed the uptitude test from the Department of Education (as reported) and is now considered a High School graduate. He even revealed that he’s now planning to pursue college degree.
He took the test a few weeks ago after his political plans were slowly being firmed up. One of the strongest criticisms against him was that he does not have the proper education to participate in a debate in Congress or craft a law or conduct a public hearing should he be elected.
The educaton department is expected to hold a press conference today to discuss the nature of the test and why Pacquiao took it.
Pacquiao’s brother Bobby, also a boxer, likewise took the same test and flunked it. Which also goes to show why Manny is a champion and Bobby is not.
By passing the test, Pacquiao’s political plans may have been reinforced.
So, he really wants to show us that we’re wrong on our perceptions about him.
Okay, now I want to believe you Manny. I feel like I’m Larios whom you defeated earlier, or Morales whom you successfully thrown into the cavas. I hope, you’ll not be as “Bad Credit” as it was advertised before. Just go on….
