Neil Patel revealed that some banned sites at Digg are now unbanned.
It seems Digg has unbanned a list of sites by letting them back in. From what I have noticed here are the sites that have been allowed back in.
They said that those sites are previously banned because they are considered by Digg as Spam sites which are actually not if you will examine them. Try examining the following sites:
Some said that Digg based their decision on banning them from the comments made by Diggers.
There was an interesting conversation on another blog in which one of the commenters spoke of a spammy post on Digg - but hadn’t bothered to read it. His point was that “he didn’t have to read it” and agreed that it “must have been spam” because simply based on what some Diggers said.
This is dangerous ground (I know this is an old conversation at this point…). I consider spam to be blatant, untargeted and anonymous advertising. Crossing over the line and calling a post you don’t agree with or don’t like as “spam” reeks more of censorship and an abuse of power.
Well, I understand that it’s part of the programming of the site. And now, I think, Digg worked to fix these things, that is why some sites are now unbanned.
With this, I again remember Jeremy Schoe who was banned from MyBlogLog. Will MyBlogLog unbanned him too?
