The MyBlogLog’s way of dealing its members who exposed some bugs of its system is still fresh in my mind. What I mean, is the banning of ShoeMoney from the MyBlogLog community just because he showed us all the bugs he found from that said site.
In the other way, when I learned that some members of the Microsoft AdCenter reported some bugs on the system…
Just wondering if anyone else has seen any odd click amounts over the past couple of days? I headed into my account today. To my surprise, I saw that I had spent nearly twice what I normally do. Looked a couple of my orders and noticed that even though my base bids are low (xp or xxp), on one or two keyphrases, I was being charged over £xx per click!
I immediately think that if the MyBlogLog team will deal with this, we’re sure these members who expose the bug will be banned from the AdCenter. But it’s not. It happens that Microsoft AdCenter Team are more professional. They immediately fixed the bug and post a blogpost about it.
Some of our adCenter advertisers are seeing high cost-per-click (CPC) and spend amounts in their accounts. I will update this post with more information as soon as I have it, but I wanted to let you know that this issue is now resolved and those of you who were overcharged, we’re working on a plan to credit your accounts for over-charges as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience,
Carolyn, adCenter Community Team
About the Bug:
According to a member, Microsoft AdCenter charged them $16 per click with his bid of $0.30. Some were charged $5.10 per click instead of $0.44 per click. And it was also revealed that his daily expenses was increased from $140 to over $1350.
Microsoft AdCenter Team admit that it’s a bug that caused the mess, but according to them it was already fixed and they’re even working to credit advertisers who were affected by this.
