Just as people celebrated the “Heart’s Day” or Valentines Day, Yahoo! and the Kruggle united themselves for the Yahoo! Developers Network. I understand, this is part of its competition with Google on Code Search.

But Yahoo! is not the only one in this competition (not only on Code Search but also in all aspect of Search Industry), but Microsoft is also one of them. And it was revealed just recently that Microsoft bought a Health Information Search Engine:

Microsoft is buying Medstory Inc., a small start-up in Foster City, Calif. Its search software applies artificial intelligence techniques to medical and health information in medical journals, government documents and on the Internet.

The terms of the Medstory acquisition were not disclosed.

So, it seems that Microsoft has now the advantage on health related searches over Google and Yahoo!. Although it is possible to google information that helps the Doctor come up with right diagnosis, but then it’s better to use a search engine designed for medical searches which is now available at Microsoft.
