According to researches made in US, taking painkiller medicine such as aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen can raise your blood pressure.

Men who took such drugs for most days in a week were about one-third more likely to be diagnosed with high blood pressure than men not taking them, the researchers found.

These three medicines are used to treat headaches, arthritis, muscle pulls and other aches and pains.

But what about those who are taking aspirin to avoid heart attack and stroke? Should they stop taking this pills? Well, according to the news, they are advised not to stop the maintenance pills.

But men who are advised by a doctor to take an aspirin a day to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke should not stop taking them, cautioned Curhan. “The benefit outweighs the risk,” he said in a telephone interview.

With this new research result, I think, we should be careful of taking this pills, especially when you feel headache, because headache is one of the symptoms when blood pressure raises. If you have headache, be sure to check first your blood pressure before taking pills for headache, because if it happens that you take painkiller pills to treat your headache which is actually caused by high blood pressure, then you’re just helping your blood to raise more.
