Philippine Postal Guys, Theft Suspects?
I am sad to realize that Postal guys here in the Philippine couldn’t be trusted anymore. Lot of cases that properties mailed to the Philippine residents were being stolen, and they are the suspected ones here.
To let you know, lot of Adsense Publishers here in the Philippines were victims of postal theft. Jepoy reported on his blog earlier that one of his Adsense check has been lost, and Google confirmed it that it was already deposited to a bank account bearing his name but actually not his.
Everybody is wondering how this guy opened a bank account and successfully cleared up the check? Well, postal guys can really do that.
How? Okay, first he created a Postal ID of someone whose name is printed on the Adsense check and of course the ID picture was his. Second, he will make a fake employee ID using the information found on the Adsense check, and just like what he did on the newly made Postal ID, the ID picture is his own. Next, he will open a bank account, whether Peso or Dollar account using the two fake ID’s. Banks staff will be made to believe that these ID’s are his own because one of these IDs is a Postal ID. And then he will deposit the stolen Adsense Check to that newly opened bank account. Now, the Adsense earning was his already.
That’s the main reason why I said postal guys are the suspects here.
So, what should I say? I suggest that Philippine banks will think some ways to prevent these guys in opening bank account using someone else identity.

why didn;t I think of that postal id. :~) I thought by having may checks in USD, thieves will have difficulty of actually encashing the check. Google said I have to wait for about 10 days for them to send the scanned copy of the check and where it was deposited. Then, that’s the only time they could help me.
My other check has already been sent and these postal bastards are now waiting for their prey.
yap. lot of mailbox-thieves are coming from postal corporation themselves. they’re targeting checks, letter with cash and even packages. and one of their instrument in encashing checks is their own postal id.
