Selling Text Links through the BlogToProfit sometimes made me wonder, because there are other clients who want me to create a link to a site by using someones name. For example is the name of George Lindemann and the client’s site is the one linked by that name.
If you’ll check the site being linked, you’ll find no information about George Lindemann. The site is (according to site itself) about the collection of modern arts. And what made me wonder is, why are they trying to promote this site by using the anchor text George Lindemann…
I checked the Wikipedia about it and it says that George Lindemann is a German cavalry officer and field commander:
Georg Lindemann (March 8, 1884 – September 25, 1963) was a German cavalry officer and field commander who served in the Heer during World War I and World War II. He survived the Second World War and after several years in captivity as a Prisoner of War (POW), he was released.
Is it the Lindemann that they are talking? Okay, it might be the wrong guy. I remember that I once used this name on my previous blogpost, “Be Rich if not the Richest“, when I said:
When I lost again my business last year (2005), I again conditioned my self that this business is not really the path for me to become rich for God permit it to be lost. And so after several month, I found a job which really pulls dollars into my pocket. And I said to my self, “maybe this is now the time to walk like George Lindemann Jr. and be one of the richest men in world.”
I think, this is the one they’re referring to. George Lindemann Jr that I mentioned on that blogpost is a billionaire who registered the patent on soft contact lens and the chief of natural gas company in Southern Union.
But I also found another George Lindemann. I am not sure if it is the one who patented the soft lens. According to the People For the American Way or PFAW, George Lindemann is a supporter of the Miami Arts Community:
George has been an active and influential philanthropist and supporter of the Miami Arts Community. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade Performing Arts Center Foundation, and served on their Executive Board of Directors from 2002-2004. During this time, George also served Member of the Miami Art Museum Exhibition Committee, a Trustee of the Miami Art Museum, a member of the City of Miami Arts & Entertainment Council, and Chairman of the Performing Arts Center Next Generation Committee.
So, it seems that this man is more related to the linked site compared to the first two George Lindemann. This Lindemann is a man of Art while the linked site is about Art.
