Petty gang member Kang Dal Go (Yang Dong Geun) is forced to flee Busan after falling out with his gang. In Seoul, Dal Go poses as a doctor and manages to find work at a hospital. The rough-and-tumble Dal Go immediately clashes with Kim Yoo Na (Han Ga In), a sassy and righteous doctor with little patience for deceit and incompetence. The more they fight, however, the more affection grows between the odd couple, much to the confusion of Yoo Na and the consternation of suitor Seok Hee Jung (Lee Jung Hyuk).

Yoo Na and Dal Go’s days of happiness are limited, as Dal Go’s shady past begins to catch up with his new identity. Hee Jung is intent on exposing him, his old cohorts are still trying to hunt him down, and it turns out he was involved in the death of Yoo Na’s brother. Dal Go sincerely wants to start anew but, with the lies stacking up, Yoo Na may not forgive him when she discovers the truth…
