A fairy tale romance set in the city of love, Lovers in Paris started a new trend for Korean dramas. During its initial broadcast in 2004, Lovers in Paris achieved an amazing 50% viewership rate. After its success, many other productions, such as Lovers in Prague and Something Happened in Bali, also went abroad for shooting, bringing exotic locales to the audience’s home.

Kang Tae Young (Kim Jung Eun) is a cheerful and energetic young woman studying film in Paris. To make ends meet, she becomes a housekeeper for the suave millionaire Han Ki Joo (Park Shin Yang). Ki Joo soon fires her as a housekeeper, but hires her to pose as his girlfriend for business reasons. The two become unexpectedly attracted to each other, but the relationship falls through due to some misunderstandings. Soon, they both return to Korea. Meeting again by chance, the love that began in Paris finally has the chance to bloom in Korea. Unfortunately, though Ki Joo and Tae Young’s love for each other is simple and sincere, the world around them is complicated. Ki Joo’s laid-back nephew Yoon Soo Hyuk (Lee Dong Gun) has eyes for Tae Young, and tries hard to separate them. Ki Joo encounters many challenges with his business. In addition, Ki Joo’s family greatly disapproves of Tae Young and her humble background. Can Tae Young and Ki Joo hold on to their love, or is it nothing more than a memory left behind in Paris?
