Did you know that lot of spywares nowadays have the ability to record IM conversation, email information and even the users web surfing info?
One of these spywares is the Spyware.SnoopStick spyware. It infects all versions of Windows OS and is actually spread by USB Key or through the USB Flash drives. It records the following:
Web surfing:
- Time
- User name
- Program
- URL
IM Conversations:
- Time
- Conversation
- Service
- Converstaion text
Emails:
- Time
- Message
How to detect it? Well, updated antivirus or antispyware softwares can detect this kind of spyware. However, you can also detect it by yourself:
- First, set the Window view option to view including hidden files.
- Then search for the files instance.dat, mia.dll, SnoopStick.dat, SnoopStick.exe, SnoopStick.msi, SnoopStick.par, SnoopStick.res.
If you find these files on your C: drive, then it is mostlikely that your PC is already infected by this spyware. And the worst scenario is, the data it recorded are sent to the third party.
You better check your PC now.
