Musa: The Warrior is a sweeping real-life epic written and directed by Kim Sung Soo and starring actors Jung Woo Sung, Ju Jin Mo, and Ahn Sung Ki and Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi. Loyalty, honor, and fairness are integral parts of being a genuine “musa”, the Korean word for “warrior”. This swordplay war epic is set in 12th-century China, when the Ming dynasty has just overthrown the Yuan. Korea wants good relations with China, but its hapless delegation, led by inept young general Choi Jung, has just been thrown out of the Ming court. Choi Jung then gets the bright idea of rescuing a captured Ming princess from the Yuan and using her to curry favour with the new dynasty.
