Unlimited email storage? Wow! that’s great!

Yahoo! announced today that they will be offering unlimited storage starting May 2007 as their present to all Yahoo! Mail users while Yahoo! Mail celebrates its 10 years of existence (that was when the RocketMail was acquired by Yahoo! and relaunched as Yahoo! Mail last 1997).

So, you’ll not be worrying about your email space for you can now store emails with attachment as much as you can. If you are phothusiasts (I mean photo enthusiast) you can now make your email your online harddrive for your photos. You can even store all your documents into your email as attachment.

I’m just wondering what did Yahoo! do to accomodate the emails, attachment and files of its millions of users. How many harddrives are they using?

With regards to this new development of Yahoo! Mail, what will be the plan of Google to compete with Yahoo! Mail? Will Google offer also unlimited email storage for its Gmail users?
