Bloggers Don’t Need the Code of Conducts?
Tim O’reilly posted seven ideas which can be considered as the Blogger’s Code of Conduct, after Kathy Sierra felt nervous and fear of the threats she received through blogs and blogs’ comment:
- Take responsibility not just for your own words, but for the comments you allow on your blog.
- Label your tolerance level for abusive comments..
- Consider eliminating anonymous comments.
- Ignore the trolls.
- Take the conversation offline, and talk directly, or find an intermediary who can do so.
- If you know someone who is behaving badly, tell them so.
- Don’t say anything online that you wouldn’t say in person.
Code of Conduct for Bloggers is a good idea and I am actually practicing most of the suggested ideas. But I don’t it’s necessary. After all, bloggers are liable on what they are posting into their blogs.
