Yesterday, it was reported that Youtube has been block in Thailand because it’s hosting a libelous video clip against their King.
“We have blocked YouTube because it contains a video insulting to our king,” Winai Yoosabai, head of the censorship unit at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, said.
The Thai ban on YouTube, the popular video-sharing Web site, came after YouTube’s owner, Google, refused to remove the video clip, the communications minister, Sitthichai Pookaiyaudom, said.
The clip - crude, amateurish and lasting less than a minute - depicts the king with clown features painted onto his face and an image of feet over his head, a highly insulting gesture in Thailand (source)
A similar reason why Youtube was banned in Turkey (then unbanned after few days).
I don’t think Filipinos (Philippine Citizens) can do that against Youtube when an insulting video against the Philippine President will be uploaded to Youtube. Based on my observation, Filipinos themselves are insulting the Presidents (Erap during Erap time, and currently against Gloria) during their rallies (a bad way of expressing their rights and freedom of expression).
