Bringing together Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Mainland China stars, Love Start Take Place is China’s first trendy musical TV drama. The series stars Singapore singer-songwriter Yida Huang in his acting debut and Mainland newcomer Yang Ziting. Employing a “drama within a drama” format, Love Start Take Place follows the blooming romance of the two protagonists as they prepare for a musical and their stage debut. The drama’s music is produced by renowned Singapore musicians Peter and Paul Lee, and Yida Huang is naturally more than up to the task of singing in the drama. Love Start Take Place also co-stars Jordan Chan, Ruby Lin, and Eric Tsang.

As children, best friends Man Yao (Yang Ziting) and Xiao Niu (Yida Huang) grew up together in a fishing village. However, Xiao Niu’s mother, unable to put up with her husband’s (Eric Tsang) drunken habits any longer, eventually leaves for Shanghai, taking Xiao Niu with her. Years later, in the summer of 2006, Man Yao comes to Shanghai to look for Xiao Niu, at the bidding of his father who has passed away. With the help of her teacher (Jordan Chan), Man Yao gets a job at a music academy and meets the aimless Alan. Little does she know, he is the very person she is looking for.
