Even Google Steals Competitor’s Data

Even the most scientific company like Google, stole data from its competitor. This is the report according to PC World:

The admission comes as Google faces a deadline from Sohu.com to stop allegedly infringing on its copyrights. On Friday, the Chinese Internet company gave Google until Monday to stop downloads of its IME software and issue an apology. Sohu also wants compensation from Google. Early Monday morning, Google’s software remained available online.

Is this the first time Google was caught stealing something from competitors? Since my start of following the stories about Google, Google was caught two times. First is the IE promotional page which is copied from Yahoo!’s IE promotional page. So, this time, they did it just to succeed in developing the Chinese Input Method Editor, a tool used to convert Pinyin characters to Chinese characters.

Anyway, Google has apologized and they said, the tool has been updated already.

Startup Meme reminds us:

This exactly why elders teach us to know what we are copying, else we might end up copying the mistakes as well, which might lead us to public humility.
