Despite treating customers like kings and serving the best Chinese food in the area, Hyo Dong’s (Jung Joon of Strange Man, Strange Woman) restaurant has been struggling for some time, even though it carries the tradition of decades of hard work thanks to his father’s dedication (veteran Park Geun Hyung). One of the biggest reasons for this decline is the aggressive techniques of their rivals, who do their best to ruin Hyo Dong’s father. In the midst of this competition, Hyo Dong gets to know Hee Ae (Son Ye Jin of April Snow), a charming young girl who frequents the same cooking class. They also meet Shin Ae (So Yu Jin of Seoul 1945), a poor student with a big dream and lots of determination. Hyo Dong falls for Hee Ae, but when he finds out who her father is and how he’s connected to his recent troubles, then things start to get a little more complicated.

Any Korean drama fan looking at the cast of A Delicious Proposal will certainly be intrigued. This is in fact Son Ye Jin’s debut drama, but you also get to see the early days of young actors who would later become mainstay of this industry: So Ji Sub of I’m Sorry, I Love You, Ji Sung of All In, and particularly Kwon Sang Woo, starring in this drama as a delivery guy. The show was directed by Park Sung Soo of the masterpiece Ruler of Your Own World, and written by Kim In Young of The Secret Lovers.
