I discovered the Photobucket for the first time during the times when I was tracking the footsteps of the hackers who distroyed the first version of the Pinoy Bloggers Directory in Dcember 2004. Photobucket is a hosting company that host photo or video which can be posted in any websites.

Yesterday’s report through their blog, revealed that MySpace is now blocking videos hosted by Photobucket because according to OM, Photobucket is said to be selling ads on the videos posted at the MySpace through widget.

Photobucket’s money-earning ability is really affected by MySpace decision. Some will really think that this will be the end of Photobucket which was called by Scoble as MySpace parasite or a backend provider and widget maker (as it was called by the SocialMediaClub).  Duncan thinks:

Photobucket is screwed, or just plain screwed over.

On the other hand, Mathew Ingram pointed out that blocking Photobucket from MySpace because it allows users to post videos with ads, must mean that MySpace will stop publishing ads on its website because it allows users to post content from other companies.
