I recently noticed some changes on the Technorati, such as:
- The Authority (or ranking). The Last Podcast wonders what it means.
- Users homepage and other users pages
Today, I found the explanation of Dorrion Carroll of Technorati about these changes. Below is the list of some points of note:
- Technorati Authority is the number of blogs not blogposts linking to a website in the last six months. The Technically Speaking blog aks: “My only question is when did you receive any certification from any accredited institution of statistical data tracking?”
- I’s a reverse ranking method. The higher number of your blog authority has the higher is your blog ranking. This thing has been discussed here, Brian Chin and Jeremiah wonder about it too, while Bloggers Blog taught us how to create a chart about it. Allen Stern thought that Technorati has a complecated formula in ranking blogs…
- If your blog is ranked 148 just like what this blog of mine has as of writing this post, it doesn’t mean that this blog is the only one ranked 148, but there might be many blogs shared the Technorati Ranking # 148.
- Amit Agarwal noticed another changes, the Alexa Traffic Chart.

Technorati is still very strange to me.

I noticed the same thing, and I think it’s very strange.

I noticed the change as well. It said my authority is 101…witch matches my domain name. Cool coincidence
