Unsolicited Review of Jozzua – Filipino Technopreneur Blog
This time, I will be giving away my $100 worth of review to Jozzua – Filipino Technopreneur blog for free. This review is actually an unsolicited one. But, I told him about it through the comment section of his blog.
Why review Jozzua’s blog?
Actually, I planned to write a review of Pinoy Blogs once a day. This is the best way to enhance my reviewing skills and at the same time, a good way to learn lessons from different blogs. (So, if you want me to review your blog, then contact me.)
Okay, Jozzua is actually a member of our community. He frequently visited this blog and sometimes joins us in our discussions. He even give us one of his lovelinks.
In other words, the blogs of the members of our community are my target for review. Which also means that if you want me to feature and review your blog without any fees and exchange links or exchange review, then join our community too.
About the Blog:
Jozzua’s blog is a self titled one and is focusing in Technology and Making Money online. I just don’t know when did his blog started because he did not post the list of the monthly archived of his posts.
Currently, his blog is using a theme designed by someone else. I just can’t tell who’s the designer because the theme’s info was not again posted even on the footer section of the blog. We can’t also tell if the design as shown by the screenshot below is the final design for that blog because currently he’s testing different themes, studying the Adsense CTR of every theme. So, I think, the final design for his blog will be the theme that generates higher CTR.
My Observation:
At first, I thought the blog is not monetized using Google Adsense. The adsense ads is well blended with the content of the blog, as shown on the screenshot below:
If not because of that “Ads by Google” image, then I couldn’t really distinguish the ads.
I know, this technique will generate higher CTR, I think from 5% to 30% because of the fact that the adsense ads and the blog’s navigation menu really blend with each other. The only problem with this technique whether it is still in accordance to the new Adsense Policies or not because the new policy says:
Competitive Ads and Services
In order to prevent user confusion, we do not permit Google ads or search boxes to be published on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colors as the Google ads or search boxes on that site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure these ads cannot be confused with Google ads.
Well, from the quoted policy, what is prohibited is customizing other ads which will look like the Adsense Ads, not the blog’s navigation and content.
However, with the recent reminders that Adsense Team has released it seems that this way of implementing Adsense ads is not acceptable:
Some implementations that could lead to accidental clicks include placing your ads:
- In close proximity to Macromedia Flash games
- Under pop-ups or download prompts
- Near site navigation controls on your pages, such as drop-downs or menu links
Maybe the best thing that we can do is to advise Jozzue of letting the Adsense team check what he did with his blog and the Adsense ads, because at this time, only the Adsense rep can tell whether it’s still in accordance with the Adsense policy or not.
My Last Words
Maybe for now, this is enough. We’ll just post some updates about the blog next time.
And I’ll just hope that Jozzua will appreciate this short review. I also hope that everyone of you learn something from it.
Thank you and Good luck.

Highly appreciated Sustines. I’ll make a more formal post on my blog when I have time. Some notes:
- The theme I’m currently using is my own original theme
- I know about the Adsense blending post from Google. Read Abe’s post on it as well.
Thanks Jozz…
