You know, last week there was a friend of mine who went to me and told me how she knew that I am a blogger. After a short story of how she found my blog, she then requested me to teach her how to blog. She’s really eager to learn how to blog. I really wondered why.
So, I asked her, “What’s in blogging that interest you?” You know what’s her answer? She said, “My chatmate told me that lot of people became rich quickly by just blogging.”
Okay. Let’s forget her first and let’s talk about your intention why you’re blogging now. I know that you are beginners in blogging. I’m sure of that because those who are veterans in blogging don’t read my blog. If you’re reading this article now, then I’m sure you are still looking for information on how to blog.
Let me ask you “do you blog because you want to become rich quickly?” I am asking you this because you might be one those bloggers whose intention is just to become rich quickly.
If that is your intention too, then you’re in the wrong path. You know what? If you’ll only blog you’ll never became rich easily. You’ll only end up losing you money and time just like what happen to other bloggers who have that kind of intention.
If you really want to become rich quickly then do the illegal ways of job because those are the quickest way to become rich. You can hack, spam, and steal credit cards information, and the likes. Just like in the offline world. Look at them. Look at the people around you. Who became rich easily? Aren’t they who steal other properties? Aren’t they who sell illegal drugs? Aren’t they who engage underground jobs? Those are the quickest way to become rich.
I am not really encouraging you to do the illegal ways. I am just correcting things in your mind. I just want to make it clear that if you are here blogging because you want to become rich quickly then you’ll never reach your goal.
Okay. Let’s consider John Chow as an example of bloggers who became rich in just a half of a year of working for his Make Money with John Chow dot Com blog.
For your information, John Chow started creating websites on the year 1999. On his websites, he’s the one who wrote articles, reviews and features. He’s even the one who served as editor of his websites.
When he started the blog mentioned above, he has already websites that gained popularity on the internet. He already has the knowledge regarding the websites and marketing the websites. Remember that blogs are websites too. So, since John Chow started dealing websites since 1999, so he also has collected huge information. And since then John Chow has already his huge followers and fans.
In other words, when he launched his Make Money Online blog on September 2006, things were smoothly done like, writing blogposts or articles, blog marketing and promotions and other blog-related job. So, in just several months, for sure, he already gained much money from it.
If you’ll only consider how John Chow makes huge money from his Make Money Online blog, you’ll really make to think that it’s really easy to become rich in blogging.
But that’s not what really happened. You must consider how John Chow started the blog. You must also think when did John Chow start dealing with websites. And you must also configure how many internet users are following John Chow’s work prior to his launching of the Make Money Online blog.
If he started blogging just in September 2006 without knowledge on how to deal and market a website, without his popularity on the internet, do you think he will gain much money from his blog in just half a year? You must think of it.
Again, there’s no quick and easy money from blogging. If you want to become rich then you must:
- start digging information how to blog
- start blogging now
- start learning how to love blogging
- start connecting to people especially to the bloggers
- not stop blogging
- not stop learning
May be I can suggest, you should continue reading this blog. And I’m sure in the end, you’ll be rich. Not just rich, but richer than me, even than John Chow.

Hey, re: your comment about “fruits”… haha. I could only give it to 11 bloggers (an 7:11 AM/PM posting time inside joke among my friends).
Why do I blog? Definitely not for money. Eventually, I’d like to make a bit just enough to pay for my hosting… but I blog just for fun.

I was wondering on how John Chow was able to do it. I thought he just from scratch then rose to what he is now in just half a year. Thanks for the information. Blogging since 1999, All I can say is wow!

Actually, John Chow blogs just recently, but he’s already in publishing (websites) since 1999. So, when John Chow started blogging, he already has enough knowledge on writing and publishing, website marketing and making money online. These are the stuffs that make him successful in just a half year in blogging.
